Advent is Coming

This is a good and thought provoking introduction to advent (instead of purple, however, lots of churches use blue these days). Anyway, Advent begins this Sunday, Dec. 2. It is hard to think about preparing to welcome Christ into our lives when we are preparing to end the semester, but I encourage everyone to take time out to do this. 

First Pres will be hanging greens starting at 5:30 pm on Friday, worship there begins at 10:45 am on Sunday (there is a great advent Sunday school that starts at 9:30 am). 

The PSF meets every week and will have advent worship/program at 7 pm on Wednesdays @Campus Ministry Center downtown. Hope to see you!

Thursday, Dec. 6 –2012 PSF Christmas Party to benefit CASA Morgantown, @Campus Ministry Center

Bring friends – every year we have great food and music and all we ask in return is for folks to bring items to donate to the cause we are supporting.  We will be collecting items for CASA kids around 12+ years old such as small gift cards to stores, hygiene products (body wash, shampoo, conditioner, etc.), books, make up, jewelry, small games, stuff for adolescent boys.  CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates—they are volunteers that advocate for a child that has been abused or neglected to make sure their voice does not get lost in the court system.  Learn more at:  CASA website. 

Their offices are located in the Campus Ministry Center.

Sunday, Dec. 9 – 10:45 am, come hear campus pastor preach (on Isaiah 12) and after worship pick up a 2.5 gallon bag filled with goodies to help you survive exam week. @First Presbyterian Church, Morgantown. 

Wednesday, Dec. 12—Christmas light tour, come take a break from exams and enjoy a tour of some awesomely decorated homes in the Morgantown area.  

Block Printing 2.0

Coming to a mailbox near you!  PSF members created block prints to be made into cards for our annual advent devotional mailing.  Each year about 100 cards are sent to WVU students on the PSF mailing list during advent that highlight themes, images, prayers, scriptures of the season.  They are designed by students each year.
