PSF worship during Lent

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 18 and continues until Easter on Sunday, April 5.  Learn more about Lent here.

We will begin our Lenten journey by participating in the Ash Wednesday service on February 18 at 7 pm at First Presbyterian Church, Morgantown.

At the close of our PSF meetings each week during Lent, we will continue to gather for our closing worship.  We will sing the Hymn of Promise (in the bulb there is a flower) and Lord, Make us More Holy every week.  There will be a time of prayer, scripture reading, and reflection with each service.  We will watch this bulb grow into a flower as we hope for the new life promised at Easter, wait patiently for the coming of spring, and work to grow in our relationship with God during Lent.  Lenten daily devotion books have been purchased for anyone who would like one and can be picked up on Ash Wednesday or at the center.

The weekly reflection during worship will focus on one aspect of the life of faith inspired by the verses of Lord, Make Us More Holy
  • Make us more Holy, 2/25
  • Make us more Loving, 3/4
  • Make us more Patient, 3/11
  • Make us more Faithful, 3/18
          • No PSF, WVU Spring break, 3/25
  • Holy week service, 4/1
  • Maundy Thursday worship FPC, 4/2
  • Easter Service, FPC 4/5
The PSF meets every Wednesday starting with free, home-cooked dinner at 7 pm at the Campus Ministry Center/293 Willey Street/downtown at corner of Price/Willey sts.  It is a cream and green house.  Come in any door on first floor.  We start with dinner, then a program, and close with worship.  Our program over Lent will prepare to teach Sunday School to the children of FPC on Sunday, March 15 and prepare for a student planned and led worship service on April 12, 2015 at FPC.

Check our Facebook page for specific times for worship during Holy Week and if  you would like to be included in a lunch after worship on Easter.
