Friendship. Fun.

Last Wednesday we started talking about friendship as it is found in pop culture and scripture.  We opened listening to Queen's Best Friend followed by prayer.  We briefly discussed what is friendship, and then some theological ideas about friendship.  For example, have you ever understood friendship as a gift from God?  Have you ever thought about friendships being a embodied example of the kind of love God has for us and with us?  What is true friendship in the age of 'friends' on facebook?  Did you know friendship commonly meant someone you would give your life for in Greco-Roman times?  We then listened an interview with band members from fun. that described "We Are Young"  as a positive song about true friends...what do  you think?  On Wednesday, Feb. 6 we will continue talking about friendship and faith this time looking at friendship in Harry Potter.
