Ash Wednesday and Lent 2016

Ash Wednesday is February 10 and marks the beginning of the season of Lent -- a time of reflection and self examination that prepares our hearts and minds for Holy Week (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday) and Easter.  Lent is the 40 days (not counting Sundays) between Ash Wednesday and the Saturday before Easter (Holy Saturday).  The 40 days of Lent are to mirror Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness.

You are invited to join the PSF at FPC Morgantown at 7 pm on Wed. 2/10 for a service of reflection and forgiveness including readings, music, meditation, and anointing with oil. PSF members will meet at the Campus Ministry Center (293 Willey Street) by 6:45 pm to walk over together to church for worship at 7 pm.  You can also meet us at the church (456 Spruce Street).  After worship, we will head to Lotsa Mozza on High Street for dinner.  Please bring $3 to offset the cost of dinner.

Throughout Lent and into the season of Easter, we will be reading together, Accidental Saints by Nadia Bolz Weber.  Our first reading group will be 5 pm on Sunday, February 14 at the Harless Center.  There will be dinner at 6 pm for anyone interested in staying.  There are still 2 books to purchase for $10.

The PSF will be teaching Sunday School at First Pres Morgantown Sunday Feb. 14, 21, 28 and going on a retreat the weekend of March 11 - 13 to the Greenbank Observatory with time for hanging out and reflecting on Christian Vocation.  There are talks of a road trip for Spring Break.
